Box Office Mojo is measuring that Spider-Man: Homecoming has domestically out-grossed the Amazing Spider-Man films. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) were not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of the two, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 grossed the lesser domestic total with $202.8M with an opening weekend of $91M from 4324 cinemas, while The Amazing Spider-Man grossed the higher domestic total with $262.0M with an opening weekend of $62M from 4318 cinemas. Box Office Mojo measures that Spider-Man: Homecoming has now grossed $262.1M from an opening weekend of $117M at 4348 cinemas. This makes Spider-Man’s first solo outing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superior to its independent predecessors in all three aspects of domestic gross, distribution and opening weekend.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is the fourth film in Phase Three and has been playing since 7th July 2017.
