From Later Levels‘ Kim:
It is coming into wedding season, if the shops and people I know are anything to go by. So in that spirit, you and a plus-one are attending the gaming wedding of the year. Which video game character do you take to the wedding and which character gives you advice on what to wear?
The first part is easy – who to take with me to the wedding? The couple aren’t specified but that’s a big clue. If it’s “the gaming wedding of the year”, then it can only be very important characters. So important in fact that specific arrangements are under wraps. That can only mean that the couple are entitled to protection from the government, so must be political figures. I’m predicting that it’s finally the long-awaited wedding of Mr. Mario Mario and HRH Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom. Who else could it be? Mario is the most iconic video game character, and Peach is the only person he’d ever truly wish to marry. So it’ll likely be taking place in Mushroom Castle, with the Mushroom King and the Royal Mushroom Queen Consort present. Many video game diplomats will have been invited from across the Multiverse. Therefore, I must be one of them. Further thought: my plus one must also be a video game diplomat. Did you know that 2008/2012 United States Presidential candidate Barack H. Obama (D) is a playable character in The Political Machine 2008, The Political Machine 2012 and President Forever 2008 + Primaries? Selecting him as my plus one might seem like a cheap move, but he is in those games. He does count. Plus, now that he’s no longer in office, he’ll have the time. Just not sure how we’ll explain it his wife, former First Lady Michelle. Either way, he’s a high profile guest who’s really appeared in video games, and as a playable character, no less.
In terms of fashion, I’m going to go to one of the cities that probably didn’t vote for Obama during his primary: Los Santos, SA, home of Vinewood Walk of Fame actor Brandon Roberts. As the star of a certain series of films about a sports car driving and tuxedo wearing super spy, Roberts has made a fortune and accumulated numerous expensive outfits, one of which was once stolen from him during production of Deep Inside, on the very set! When you’re a diplomat or millionaire, Roberts is exactly the kind of friend you have, and one who’ll be willing to let you use one of his magazine cover tuxedos, for a small fee.
