Following yesterday’s news that Doctor Strange‘s villain is allegedly the multi-dimensional Dormammu, Gaudette has connected that the Guardians of the Galaxy will be able to access multiple dimensions with assistance from Strange. Doctor Strange’s true villain leaked?

“Doctor Strange” follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

After The Hollywood Reporter reported that Doctor Strange reshoots have been scripted by Community showrunner Dan Harmon, Reddit user Bifrost51 has posted an image allegedly proving that villain Dormammu is the subject of one such rewritten scene. Bifrost51’s post describes the image of being a screenshot from Harmon’s Harmontown Podcast from San Diego Comic-Con International 2016, which implies that Harmon may have been working on those rewrites longer than previously thought. One moment from the Harmontown Podcast was an image from Harmon’s Final Draft file contents, one of which was titled “Strange Confronts Dormammu“.

Other scenes are titled:

  • Kaecilius_01_Seduction_CH_0712 (referring to the character Kaecilius)
  • Relic Room_floppy Whip Scene (referring to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Infinity Stones, which connect Marvel Studios’ other films together)
  • Opening Operation (referring to a scene at the beginning in-which Doctor Strange is operating on a patient)
  • FIRST Ritual DH pass C627-2FIRST Ritual DH 02, SECOND Ritual CH 0627FIRST Ritual CH pass and SECOND Ritual CH 02 (possibly scenes in-which Strange uses his mystic powers)
  • Mirror Realms Explanation_rendered_01 (likely to be a version of a scene from the Doctor Strange trailer set in a mirror realm)
  • New church 2 DH 01 and New church 2 scenes(a) (which are likely to tonally relevant)

This episode of the Harmontown Podcast has been removed since the report of Harmon’s redraft work, but was retained by a fan, who’s now posted this image online.

Doctor Strange stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, who debuted in Strange Tales (1951) #110Doctor Strange is written by Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill, with redrafts from Dan Harmon. Doctor Strange opens in New Zealand on 20th October 2016. Stephen Strange’s next comic appearance will be in Doctor Strange (2015) #11 on 31st August 2016.

Doctor Strange to feature Brother Voodoo cameo?

“Doctor Strange” follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

The Hashtag Show has released a video claiming that Doctor Strange will feature a cameo from the character Jericho Drumm, who first appeared in Strange Tales (1973) #169 – the first issue of Strange Tales‘ second volume following a hiatus. Strange Tales initially starred Doctor Stephen Strange. Drumm is also known as Brother Voodoo. It is believed that Drumm will be in full costume as Brother Voodoo, but only in a minimal capacity that some audiences could miss. Drumm and Strange first met in Doctor Strange (1974) #48.

Stephen Strange first appeared in Strange Tales (1951) #110Doctor Strange opens 20th October in New Zealand, from a screenplay by Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill.

Doctor Strange reshoots scripted by Dan Harmon

The Hollywood Reporter claims that Doctor Strange re-shoots from director Scott Derickson have been scripted by Dan Harmon. Harmon’s sole previous feature credit is Monster House, with unaccredited contributions to Kung Fu Panda. As such, this is Harmon’s first time writing for a superhero – the titular Doctor Stephen Strange, as portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch. Harmon created sitcom Community, which was co-directed with Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, who also co-directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier (which first acknowledged Strange’s existence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) and Captain America: Civil War, the most recent instalment of that continuity. The Russos are also due to direct the next two Avengers films, Avengers: Infinity War and the untitled fourth Avengers film (originally announced as Avengers: Infinity War — Part II). It is expected that Avengers: Infinity War will unite Strange with Captain America, also-known-as Steven Rogers, as well Thor Odison; while filming Thor: Ragnarok (written by Stephany Folsom), actor Chris Hemsworth was photographed reading an address – 177A, Bleecker St.; Strange’s address in the comic book source material. The Hollywood Reporter quotes an unnamed source that claims Harmon’s contributions are “for additional photography”. Doctor Strange‘s shooting script has been written by C. Robert Cargill and Derickson, from a story co-written with Jon Spaights.

Doctor Strange premieres in New Zealand on 20th October 2016. Stephen Strange first appeared in Strange Tales (1951) #110.
